Mohonk Mountain House is one of America’s oldest family-owned resorts and is both a National Historic Landmark and a member of Historic Hotels of America. Built in 1869, this 266-room Victorian castle is situated on the deep-blue waters of Lake Mohonk located in the heart of the Hudson Valley in New Paltz, New York. The house is surrounded by thousands of acres of pristine forest and offers access to miles of hiking trails, tennis, golf, lake swimming, boating, ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, children's programmes, and more. The property also boasts a full-service spa and a range of dining options.

Mohonk Mountain House had used a custom bathroom amenities programme for years, complete with a retail component. They came to Gilchrist & Soames with a desire to build a completely new programme. They settled on our Essentiel Elements formulation to be able to offer a complementary product line for both their in-room programme and their spa. We developed a custom design that not only highlights the property, but which fits within their natural setting.

Mohonk Mountain House launched their new custom programme in September, 2005. Guest’s can enjoy the full-property programme within their rooms, while taking advantage of The Spa at Mohonk Mountain House, or at home by purchasing retail versions of their favorite products within the property’s gift shop.
